Story of the series
Bethany Nelson is drugged and assaulted by a stranger, Connor Roberts, in her fiancé Gavin Harrison's hotel room. She soon discovers Gavin is having an affair with her half-sister Nicole, and they're conspiring to let her mother, Shirley, die from leukemia to gain family shares. Desperate to save Shirley, Bethany agrees to a marriage of convenience with Connor, a powerful Roberts family heir. Initially cold, Connor gradually helps Bethany expose Gavin and Nicole's treachery at a press conference, forcing Nicole to proceed with the bone marrow donation. Despite their contractual marriage, Connor shows unexpected care for Bethany, who is struggling with her mother's illness and public humiliation. Bethany, secretly the tech genius "Nova" who aids Gavin, also manipulates Nicole. Connor, unaware Bethany is the woman he assaulted, begins investigating her. Bethany moves out, but their paths remain intertwined as Connor's concern for her deepens, and she grapples with her growing feelings for him.
