STORY

Story of the series

Driving home late at night after a business trip, Arianna was eager to tell her husband Nolan about her pregnancy, but a pair of dazzling high beams on the road caused her to hit and kill a pedestrian. In a panic, she hid the body in the trunk. Along the way, she faced a series of close calls, including encounters with a fisherman, a mechanic, and law enforcement checks. What shattered her completely was that all the evidence pointed to the victim being Nolan himself. Just as guilt and despair overwhelmed her, the plot twisted. Nolan appeared alive, together with his mother, sister, and accomplices. It turned out the accident was an elaborate scheme Nolan had designed to pay off his gambling debts and seize Arianna's assets. Having already sensed something was wrong, Arianna had secretly alerted the police, who arrived just in time to arrest the entire criminal gang. In the end, Nolan took his own life, his mother was left paralyzed, and though Arianna lost her child, she found a new beginning.
