STORY

Story of the series

Belinda, an "unappealing" wife, overhears her husband Lucas reveal he married her only to protect his true love, Verena. Heartbroken, she agrees to divorce and leaves the country. Three years later, a transformed and successful Belinda returns as "Belinie," Santino Thomas's goddaughter. Lucas and others initially don't recognize her. Belinda, now a skilled doctor, agrees to delay her divorce from Lucas until his father's birthday, who is trying to reconcile them. Living together, Belinda asserts her independence, confronting her manipulative half-sister Kylee and exposing Ryan's hypocrisy. Ryan and Verena attempt to discredit "Belinie" by spreading rumors about her job and accusing her of seducing Lucas, leading to a confrontation with Belinda's godparents.
