STORY

Story of the series

Olympian priestess Selena sleeps with the poisoned war god Ares to save him, and becomes pregnant. To protect her child, she makes a deal with the Fates, trading her memory and lifespan—forgetting who the father is. Forced to return to Ares, she finds her best friend Hera has stolen her identity. The cold war god finds himself inexplicably drawn to Selena and insists they pretend to be engaged. Living together day by day, feelings quietly grow. When her memory returns, Selena learns she has only six months left to live. To avoid burdening Ares, she pushes him away with coldness. But after pain and searching, Ares still vows to keep her by his side. As the army of fallen gods marches on Olympus, Hera tears open all the lies. Facing a dying Selena, Ares makes his ultimate choice: “If giving up my throne as war god can save you, I’d rather be mortal.”
