STORY

Story of the series

Queen Seraphine Ashwell is publicly humiliated by her husband, King Aldric, during a royal feast. Forced into a deadly chess wager against his mistress, she discovers that the unborn child in her womb is the reborn Chess Sage, Cael. Guided by his brilliant strategies, Seraphine defeats both the mistress and the king in shocking chess matches, winning control of the royal guards and exposing Aldric’s corruption.
